This remarkable pouf from the Saharan Oulad Bou Sbaa tribe juxtaposes intricate flat weave with a band of lustrous low pile for maximal textural interest. The flat weave section features sensuous abstract forms in alternating violet and pale rose, while the fuzzy high-pile band alternates calligraphic motifs in purple and pink. The sides show fine weaving of triangular forms in addition to extending the design from the front. The back is an understated cream with green bands.
